Of course, there will always be the outliers – men who seem more concerned with their looks than women are, and in fact the term ‘metrosexual’ has really gained popularity in recent times – but generally these statements are true. First, never go out in public in dirty clothes! Your clothes don’t need to be expensive, but they have to be CLEAN! As in freshly washed; or at least hasn’t received its fair amount of perspiration and sweat.
There is nothing more discouraging than a smelly person, no matter how nice and expensive his clothes may be. Ironing your clothes will also go a long way, as it also gives a refreshing scent to your look. You may not look at ironing as a very important step but a good suit can be easily ruined by some crease. Making sure that you smell good is also key. It doesn’t mean that you have to be bathed in the most expensive perfume, but at the least you should not smell of anything.
